Description:

A busy steel and hardware distributor is looking to employ an energetic and outgoing person to assist customers with their selections.


Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience selling steel and industrial hardware products is essential and not negotiable.
  • Computer literate.
  • Syspro experience will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist with all inquiries.
  • Answering incoming calls and converting inquiries into sales.
  • Assist with products and solutions for sales and assisting in sourcing stock (standard and non-standard).
  • Responsible for the processing of customer orders, as well as expediting deliveries/collection instructions.
  • Provide quotations to the clients, via Syspro.
  • Develop new sales opportunities through cold calls to potential clients.
  • Have an understanding on how the different products work.
  • Ensure that their respective sales and GP targets are achieved monthly.
  • Handle administrative duties.
  • Liaise with warehouse manager regarding deliveries.
  • Providing leads to external staff.

Our client is seeking an internal salesperson, to join their dynamic sales team and resell a wide range of steel products.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the retail steel industry is essential.
  • Computer literate.
  • Able to work retail hours – including public holidays and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm on a roster basis.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer inquiries and provide professional sales support via phone, email, and in person.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations and sales orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, product offerings, and pricing.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock level coordination.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent external sales experience in fencing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of palisade fencing, ClearVu, diamond mesh, and razor wire.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your sales activities effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales of fencing products, including palisade fencing, ClearVu, diamond mesh, and razor wire.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Cape Town region.
  • Provide expert advice on fencing solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotations and follow up on leads.
  • Collaborate with the branch team to ensure seamless customer service and support.
