Overview
A busy steel & hardware distributor seeks an energetic and outgoing person to assist customers with selections and convert enquiries into sales. This is a hands-on counter sales role, supporting walk-ins, calls, quoting and order processing.
Ideal profile:
Confident customer service + strong product knowledge (steel, tube, industrial hardware) + fast quoting and order processing.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years selling steel and industrial hardware (essential).
- Computer literate; Syspro an advantage.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist customers at the counter, handle calls, and convert enquiries into sales.
- Provide product solutions; source standard and non-standard stock.
- Process orders and expedite deliveries/collections.
- Quote via Syspro (or similar) and follow up to close.
- Develop new business via cold calls and relationship building.
- Achieve monthly sales and GP targets; liaise with warehouse to ensure smooth fulfilment.
