Overview
Our client requires a Retail Sales Manager with strong trading and management experience in the retail and wholesale mild steel and tube, industrial hardware and related industries to join their dynamic company in Pinetown.
This role requires a hands-on sales leader who can manage and motivate sales staff, assist with closing deals, support quotations and large orders, maintain strong supplier pricing awareness and ensure budgeted sales targets are met.
Ideal profile:
A strong Retail Sales Manager with mild steel, tube and industrial hardware experience, excellent trading and negotiating skills, and the ability to lead sales staff in a busy retail and wholesale environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / equivalent.
- 5 or more years’ management and sales experience within the related industry is essential.
- Experience in retail and wholesale mild steel and tube, industrial hardware or related industries.
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Understanding of retail processes and procedures.
- Computer literate.
- Strong management, trading and negotiating skills.
- Able to work retail hours, including Saturdays and public holidays on a roster basis.
- Stable work record with contactable references.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Train sales staff.
- Assist with quotations and large orders.
- Provide updated supplier lists to staff to ensure products are purchased at the right price from the correct supplier.
- Provide staff with weekly specials lists.
- Assist internal, retail and external sales staff in closing deals.
- Delegate duties to sales staff.
- Motivate and manage sales staff.
- Ensure necessary customer service levels are maintained.
- Ensure that budgeted sales targets are met.
- Open and follow up on new accounts and loyalty accounts.
