Overview
A local supplier of mild steel and industrial hardware products is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy trading branch in Pinetown.
This role requires a strong, hands-on manager with steel, tube and industrial hardware knowledge, solid retail and branch operations experience, and the ability to lead staff, grow sales, manage stock, control debtors and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Ideal profile:
A commercially strong Branch Manager with steel and industrial hardware experience, strong leadership ability, retail trading knowledge, branch operations experience, stock/debtors control and a hands-on approach to sales growth.
Minimum Requirements
- 10 or more years’ experience in a management position.
- Experience and knowledge of steel and tube, industrial hardware and related products is essential.
- Understanding of retail processes and procedures.
- Strategic thinking and planning skills.
- Must be able to work in a pressurised environment.
- Strong personality with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Computer literate.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day running of the branch.
- Direct all operational aspects, including distribution, warehousing, transport, customer service, human resources, administration and sales.
- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.
- Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans.
- Manage branch budgets and allocate funds appropriately.
- Identify areas for improvement and propose corrective actions to address challenges and support growth opportunities.
- Network to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company.
- Stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement.
- Manage staff and foster a positive branch environment.
- Control branch debtors and ensure proper stock management.
- Maintain customer satisfaction and ensure successful branch operations.
- Implement strategies that increase productivity and enable sales target achievement.
- Take a hands-on approach and support the expansion and success of the business.
