Overview
Our client, a busy structural steel fabricator based in Pretoria, is looking to employ an experienced Sales Representative to resell cold formed lipped channels and roof sheeting products to new customers.
The ideal candidate must have strong external sales experience within structural steel fabrication, with proven ability to call on steel retailers, residential, commercial, industrial and mining customers.
Ideal profile:
A technically strong Sales Representative with structural steel fabrication experience, knowledge of cold formed lipped channels and roof sheeting, strong trading ability, negotiation skills and confidence growing new customer accounts.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 or more years’ recent working experience as a Sales Representative in structural steel fabrication is essential.
- Experience calling on steel retailers, residential, commercial, industrial and mining industries.
- Knowledge of cold formed lipped channels and roof sheeting products is essential.
- Strong trading and negotiating skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Company vehicle will be provided.
- Must be bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Service new and existing customers.
- Reach and exceed sales targets.
- Quote customers accurately and professionally.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Increase market share.
- Offer technical advice to customers.
- Follow up on outstanding orders.
- Work closely with the sales team.
