Bloemfontein Free State Permanent Market Related Steel & Tube Trading

Overview

A well-established company in the steel and tube industry is looking for a driven and commercially strong Internal Sales Representative to join their team in Bloemfontein.

This role requires someone with a strong trading mindset — not just processing quotes, but actively buying, pricing, negotiating and closing deals. The ideal candidate must understand profit, margin awareness, customer relationships and the pace of a target-driven steel sales environment.

Ideal profile:

A commercially minded Internal Salesperson with proven steel and tube industry experience, strong product knowledge, supplier negotiation ability, margin awareness and confidence closing profitable deals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven internal sales experience within the steel and tube industry is non-negotiable.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in steel and tube internal sales.
  • Strong knowledge of steel products, including tubes, pipes, structural steel and related products.
  • Solid trading ability, including buying, negotiating and margin awareness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and admin skills.
  • Computer literate, including Excel and internal systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Generate and follow up on quotes.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing and availability.
  • Negotiate pricing and secure profitable deals.
  • Process orders and ensure smooth delivery coordination.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and responsiveness.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts.
