Overview

Our client, a national supplier of steel and fluid control products, is looking for a technically minded Internal Salesperson to assist project houses, civil, mining and construction customers with their requirements.

The ideal candidate must have solid product knowledge of structural steel, pipes, fittings, valves and flanges, with the ability to prepare quotes, bids and proposals, work from BOMs and provide technical guidance to customers.

Ideal profile:

A technically minded Internal Salesperson with experience selling structural steel and fluid control products to project houses, civil, mining and construction customers, with strong quoting, BOM costing and customer relationship skills.

Minimum Requirements

3 or more years’ related experience is essential.
Solid knowledge of structural steel, pipes, fittings, valves and flanges.
Must have experience working with project houses.
Computer literate, including Excel spreadsheets and pivots.
Technically minded.
Reliable transport.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve sales targets.
Detail-orientated and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong problem-solving skills to address customer inquiries and concerns effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on a wide range of steel and fluid control products.
Prepare and present quotes, bids and proposals to clients.
Work with BOMs, including costings and calculations.
Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets and objectives.
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors and market conditions.
