A busy steel and engineering company requires an energetic and hands on person to oversee the full function of managing a busy warehouse. The ideal candidate must have experience in retail distribution.
Requirements
At least 10 years’ experience as a Warehouse Manager is essential within a large warehouse 12,500 sqm or more
Strong management skills
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
Computer literate
Own transport and a valid driver’s licence is essential
Have a stable work record and contactable references
Of sober habits
Physically fit and able to work on your feet
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the entire logistics and distribution functions for a large warehouse with a stock value of R50 million
Manage 30 staff members
Oversee the receiving of stock into the warehouse
Route planning for daily deliveries
Dealing with customers
Ensure that the warehouse is neat and tidy
Ensure goods received are per order and specification
Ensure that despatched stock is loaded accurately and checked as per company systems
Oversee and action daily stock checks
Ensure that deadlines are met
Oversee the OHS requirements within the warehouse
