Our client is looking to fill 2 positions based in Boksburg and Wadeville, the ideal candidate must have experience as a Stock Controller in steel, fencing, wire and related industries is essential.

Requirements

3–5 years’ experience in purchasing or stock control.
Sound SYSPRO knowledge would be advantageous.
Intermediate MS Excel knowledge.
Sound product knowledge in Steel & Tube, fencing, wire, and other related products.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and check stock.
Record damages and shortages.
Generate Return to Supplier for approval and processing.
Confirm receipt of Purchase Order.
Identify and mark branch stock according to Purchase Order.
Receive and collate Pick Notes.
Allocate Pick Notes to warehouse staff.
Monitor status of Pick Notes.
Generate invoices for collection of goods.
Check dispatch of stock against supplementary pick slips and invoices.
Record returns.
Generate Requests for Credit Notes for approval and processing.
Perform daily counts of stock.
Assist with stock counts.
Handle general filing and administration.
Take full responsibility for the entire stock control function.

A well-established retail steel company is seeking a transport/logistics supervisor to assist with daily transport operations. The ideal candidate must be organised, hands-on, and comfortable working in a busy yard environment coordinating deliveries of steel products.

Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) essential.
Minimum 2–3 years’ transport or logistics experience (steel industry experience highly advantageous).
Knowledge of load planning, trip sheets, and securing loads.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.
Computer literate (MS Office; experience with delivery tracking systems advantageous).
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle preferred.
Willing to work overtime when required.
Must reside in Cape Town, close to Wetton.

Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate deliveries and collections of steel products (flat bar, round bar, tube, sheet, angle iron, etc.).
Communicate daily with drivers and manage trip schedules.
Plan loads efficiently based on weights, lengths, delivery routes, and customer priorities.
Ensure correct dispatch documentation accompanies loads (delivery notes, PODs).
Monitor fleet maintenance schedules for trucks and bakkies.
Arrange services, breakdown repairs, and general fleet maintenance.
Track fuel usage, mileage, and driver performance.
Assist with route optimisation to control fuel and transport costs.
Work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to prioritise urgent deliveries.
Maintain accurate transport records and reports.
