Description:

A local supplier of steam, water, gas, oil valves, and other related fluid control products is looking to employ an experienced Technical Valve Specialist, to service the African Markets and source new business.

Requirements:

• 3 or more years’ experience in Export trading into Africa
• Technically minded and able to assist customers with their selections and offer technical assistance
• Experience selling steam, water, gas and oil valves
• Have existing contacts in other countries
• Valid passport and able to travel into Africa regularly

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include receiving quotations and respond in writing and verbally, producing proforma invoices and send to Customer for approval
• Travelling to African countries to meet Customers and to grow the Company’s client base
• Negotiate prices, do market research, and find out about upcoming projects
• Liaising with Customers regarding the dispatching of consignments
• Prioritizing workflow as requested by team members and ensuring the work is prioritized as per instruction
• Source new business
• Maintaining and building relationships with customers
• Keep up to date with current market trends

Our client requires an experienced person, to resell their wide range of pumps the ideal candidate must be able to select pumps as well as offer technical advice to customers.

Requirements:

• 3 or more years retail sales experience in water pumps, accessories and irrigation fittings is essential and not negotiable.
• Able to select a pump for a customer.
• Knowledge and understanding of pump curves.
• Familiar with customers in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, chemical, mining, building, wastewater, effluent transfer, energy, and related industries.
• In possession of a valid driver’s license.
• A stable work record and contactable references.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities:

• A proven track record reselling a wide range of water pumps.
• Ensuring that budgeted sales and GP targets are met and achieved.
• Opening and following up on new accounts as well as building and maintaining relationships with Customers.
• Ensuring customer details are updated on the system.
• Assist debtor’s department with any account queries.
• Follow up on quotations and invoices as well as deliveries to Customers.
• Following up on leads and turning them into sales.
• Handling of customer complaints as well as repairs/returns.
• Regularly evaluate account customers buying experience and propose adjustments when necessary.
• Increase market share and awareness (market research and awareness)
• Closing deals.
• Reaching and exceeding monthly sales targets.
