Overview
Our client, a local supplier of steel pipes, fittings, valves, water pumps and flanges, is looking for a dynamic Sales Representative to join their sales team on the East Rand.
The ideal candidate must have external sales experience reselling fluid control products, with the ability to call on customers in the water, sewerage, building, civil, construction, industrial, petrochemical, gas and mining sectors.
Ideal profile:
A driven external sales trader with strong knowledge of steel pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, water pumps and related fluid control products, plus strong customer relationship, quotation, technical support and stock sourcing ability.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 or more years’ external sales experience reselling steel pipes, fittings, valves, flanges, water pumps and related fluid control products.
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Experience calling on the water, sewerage, building, civil, construction, industrial, petrochemical, gas and mining sectors.
- Computer literate.
- Strong selling and communication skills.
- Technically minded with the ability to advise customers on suitable product solutions.
- Able to identify new sales opportunities and grow customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to introduce and promote the product range to new and existing customers.
- Identify and engage with potential clients, establishing strong relationships to drive business growth.
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients, ensuring product suitability and addressing enquiries.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and industry developments to inform sales strategies.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to the overall success of the company.
- Assist customers with product solutions and sourcing standard and non-standard stock.
- Process customer orders and expedite deliveries or collection instructions.
- Provide quotations to customers.
