Overview
Our client, a local supplier of steel pipe fittings, is looking for a dynamic trader to join their sales team and resell a wide range of fluid control products. This role suits someone confident in counter/internal sales who can assist walk-in customers, quote accurately (Syspro), and convert phone/email inquiries into consistent monthly sales and GP.
Ideal profile:
3+ years reselling steel pipes/fittings/valves/flanges/couplings + confident customer service + fast, accurate quoting (Syspro) + disciplined follow-up + comfortable working retail hours.
Experience & Requirements
- Grade 12 / equivalent.
- 3+ years working experience reselling steel pipes, fittings, valves, flanges and couplings.
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Computer literate.
- Strong selling and communication skills.
- Stable work record with contactable references.
- Able to work retail hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist with all inquiries (walk-in and telephonic).
- Answer incoming calls and convert inquiries into sales.
- Assist with product advice and solutions; source stock (standard and non-standard).
- Process customer orders and expedite deliveries and collection instructions.
- Provide quotations to clients via Syspro (or similar ERP).
- Develop new opportunities through cold calling potential clients.
- Ensure monthly sales and GP targets are achieved.
- Handle administrative duties accurately and timeously.
- Liaise with warehouse manager regarding picking, dispatch and deliveries.
