We are seeking a Junior Draughtsman to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience working in a steel service centre environment and be confident in producing accurate technical drawings.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ working experience as a draughtsman within a steel service centre environment.
Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and SigmaNEST would be advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
Prepare and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings.
Translate technical requirements into clear, accurate designs.
Work closely with production and sales teams to ensure accuracy of drawings.
Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions.
Support with any additional technical drafting requirements as needed.

A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a draughtsperson in a steel service centre.
Completed draughting certificate / diploma.
Computer literate (MS Office Word/Excel). AutoCAD & Sigmanest are essential.
Technically minded.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Own transport.
A stable work record with contactable references.
Duties & Responsibilities
Drawing parts for cutting on laser, plasma, and profile machines.
Creating chamfer, drilling, bending, and rolling drawings for the workshop.
Quoting clients accurately according to drawings and assisting with cutting selections.
Developing flat drawings for cones and bent parts.
Nesting parts for machines using Sigmanest.
Maintaining cost-effective estimations and accurately handling internal sales.
Checking estimates for Representatives and advising on costings, nestings, etc. where required.
Liaising with customers on specific projects and advising when necessary.
Drawing and developing parts as required by customers.
Changing nestings to different machines when necessary.
Preparing material take-offs from general arrangement drawings, customer DXF files, and electronic media files.
Preparing developments, drawings, and nestings.
Liaising with customers, handling queries and complaints.
Expediting orders to completion in conjunction with Workshop Management.
Checking methods for improved quality, material certificate issues, and traceability concerns.
