Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail steel, pipes, fittings and flanges.
Strong retail sales background with the ability to lead and supervise a sales team.
Excellent product knowledge and ability to provide technical support to customers.
Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Customer-focused with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and motivate retail sales staff.
Drive sales performance and ensure targets are met.
Provide expert advice on products and services.
Oversee daily store operations and ensure excellent customer service standards.
Manage stock levels, merchandising, and promotional activities.
Prepare sales reports and provide feedback to management.
Assist with quotations and large orders.
Provide updated supplier lists to staff to ensure products are purchased at the right price from the correct supplier.
Provide staff with weekly specials lists.
Delegate duties to sales staff.
Motivate and manage sales staff.
Ensure necessary customer service levels are maintained by all staff.
Ensure that budgeted sales targets are met.
Open and follow up on new accounts and loyalty accounts.
Ensure all customer details are updated on the system.
Process invoices.
Increase market awareness.
Ensure that stock is replenished.

Qualifications
Grade 12 / equivalent.
3 or more years working experience reselling steel pipes, fittings, valves, flanges and couplings.
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Computer literate.
Strong selling and communication skills.
A stable work record and have contactable references.
Able to work retail hours.
Experience
Greet customers and assist with all inquiries.
Answer incoming calls and convert inquiries into sales.
Assist with products and solutions for sales and assist in sourcing stock (standard and non-standard).
Responsible for the processing of customer orders, as well as expediting deliveries and collection instructions.
Provide quotations to clients via Syspro.
Develop new sales opportunities through cold calls to potential clients.
Ensure that respective sales and GP targets are achieved monthly.
Handle administrative duties.
Liaise with warehouse manager regarding deliveries.
