Overview

Our client, a local supplier of steel pipes and fittings, is looking for a dynamic trader to join their sales team and resell a wide range of fluid control products. This is a hands-on internal and counter sales role focused on enquiries, accurate quoting, order processing, and achieving GP targets.

Ideal profile:

Counter/internal sales background in pipes, fittings and valves + confident on Syspro quoting + strong conversion skills (phones + walk-ins) + disciplined order follow-up and customer service.

Experience & Requirements

Grade 12 / equivalent.
3+ years working experience reselling steel pipes, fittings, valves, flanges and couplings.
Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
Computer literate (Syspro exposure required for quoting).
Strong selling and communication skills.
Stable work record with contactable references.
Able to work retail hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

Greet customers and assist with all walk-in enquiries.
Answer incoming calls and convert enquiries into sales.
Advise on products and solutions; assist in sourcing stock (standard and non-standard).
Process customer orders and expedite deliveries or collection instructions.
Prepare and issue quotations via Syspro.
Develop new sales opportunities through cold calling potential clients.
Ensure monthly sales and GP targets are achieved.
Handle internal administration related to orders, quotes, and customer records.
Liaise with the warehouse manager regarding deliveries and dispatch.
