Description:

Our client is currently looking for two Tube Makers to oversee and operate Tube Mills to maintain consistent, high-quality production.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a steel industry mill operation role.
• Grade 12 or equivalent educational background.
• Proficient in basic mechanical functions and efficient, accurate mill changes.
• Strong product knowledge, including product geometry and materials.
• Proficiency in English (verbal, reading, and writing).
• Ability to supervise team members and make low-level operational decisions.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving mill setup or adjustment issues.
• Focused on production goals without compromising quality.

Responsibilities:

• Review production schedules and prepare forming rolls in advance of each mill run.
• Perform roll changes and initial mill settings.
• Inspect impeder ferrite rods and insert appropriately sized impeder.
• Engage weld and fine-tune mill settings for final product sizing.
• Ensure scarfing tools are in good condition and blend weld beads smoothly with pipe circumference.
• Strive to meet production targets with minimal scrap or defective rates.
• Complete production reports post-shift, detailing output, scrap, and non-compliant products.
• Conduct roll changes and set up the mill swiftly to produce high-quality tubes that meet specifications and client requirements.
• Operate and monitor mills to produce tubes of the highest grade.
