Overview
Our client, a leading stockist and supplier of valves for steam, water, oil and gas, requires an experienced Sales Representative to service new and existing customers and increase market awareness. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supplying valves into water reticulation, irrigation, sewage, mining, power generation, process plants, oil and gas environments and be comfortable supporting projects with technical input.
Ideal profile:
5+ years as a technical valve specialist + consultative external sales + confident in projects/design assistance + strong pipeline discipline and reporting + relationship builder who can hit targets.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technical valve specialist.
- Technically minded with experience working on projects and offering design assistance to customers.
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Stable work record with contactable references.
- Valid South African driver’s license and own reliable transport.
- Able to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out daily visits to new and existing clients.
- Meet and exceed sales targets through structured pipeline activity.
- Promote products and increase market awareness across target sectors.
- Offer technical advice and select suitable valve solutions for applications.
- Assist customers on projects, including design support where required.
- Process orders and ensure smooth internal follow-through.
- Report sales trends and monitor competitor activity.
- Prepare and present weekly plans and reports.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Network, negotiate and close deals professionally.
