Overview
Are you a highly skilled Production Planner with experience in a plasma/profile cutting workshop? Our client is seeking an experienced professional to join their dynamic team to plan, coordinate and expedite production, ensuring jobs flow smoothly and deadlines are consistently achieved.
Ideal profile:
5+ years planning/expediting in a steel service centre + strong plasma/profile cutting knowledge + confident drawing interpretation + job card processing + disciplined tracking of WIP and delivery commitments.
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Production Planner / Expeditor within a steel service centre.
- Extensive knowledge of plasma and profile cutting operations.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proven experience processing job cards and managing production flow.
- Hands-on expediting experience to ensure timely job completion.
- Excellent coordination skills to work closely with sales and production teams.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving ability, and ability to perform under pressure.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and monitor production activities to meet customer deadlines.
- Allocate materials and resources efficiently to achieve production targets.
- Liaise with the sales team to confirm job requirements, priorities and delivery commitments.
- Expedite plasma and profile cutting jobs to ensure deadlines are met.
- Monitor production schedules, job cards and work-in-progress (WIP).
- Ensure material availability for upcoming jobs and coordinate shortages/time-critical items.
- Liaise with production, sales and clients to resolve delays, constraints or spec issues.
- Track job status and provide clear progress updates and reporting.
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure documentation is up to date.
